Timetable for applications
The application procedure for research grants is in two stages. Stage 1 is a short outline application. These are reviewed by the Research Advisory Committee and successful applicants at Stage 1 will be invited to Stage 2 and asked to complete a more detailed Stage 2 application. Stage 2 applications are subject to full internal and external peer review. Recommendations for funding are made by the Research Advisory Committee at a meeting in June, for consideration by the Trustees at their meeting in July.
2010 Grant Round
The timetable for the 2010 grant round is as follows:

| Invitation to submit a Stage 2 full application | January 2010 |
| Closing date for submission of Stage 2 applications | 1pm - 8 March 2010 |
| Meeting of RAC to make award recommendations | June 2010 |
| Final decision on awards by the Trustees | July 2010 |
