This section is aimed at researchers working within academic institutions.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust supports research aimed at curing and treating CF and improving the lives of those living with the condition. Only researchers from recognised academic institutions are eligible to apply for Cystic Fibrosis Trust grants. We are open to receiving applications from outside the UK, but due to limited funds priority is likely to be given to UK researchers. All applications undergo a rigorous external peer review system before being reviewed by the Research Advisory Committee, which recommends applications for funding to the Trustees.

The Trustees of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust have decided to focus on ground-breaking research that is of imminent and/or important clinical relevance to people with CF, for which funding is not available from other sources and which is not being carried out elsewhere. In order to fulfil current commitments to existing programmes, there will, for the time being at least, be only one round per annum of grant allocations.
