Trusts and Foundations
The Joseph Levy Foundation
The current Joseph Levy Foundation was formed by a merger of the Joseph Levy Foundation and the Lawrence Levy Foundation, both of which have been long-standing and generous supporters of people with Cystic Fibrosis. Joseph Levy was a founding trustee of the CF Trust, and was Chairman for nearly two decades. The Joseph Levy Memorial Fund continues to help individuals with CF, and the Foundation is a regular and generous supporter of our work.
The Robert Luff Foundation
Having generously supported us for many years, the Robert Luff Foundation has agreed to grant us £500,000 over three years to build on their earlier funding of research into lung "reconditioning": increasing the proportion of donated lungs that can be successfully used for transplants. Early trials have shown significant success, and this pioneering research may translate into a new lease of life for the many people who are listed for transplant but do not receive one in time. At the moment, this affects around 30% of people listed for transplant, while over 75% of potential donor lungs are deemed unusable and are discarded.
The John Ellerman Foundation
The John Ellerman Foundation has generously supported the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust for many years.
With a grant of £75,000 over three years, the John Ellerman Foundation has allowed us to continue to support the CF community through our Expert Patient Adviser scheme.
Eileen Terry, Appeals Manager at the John Ellerman Foundation said "We have developed an excellent working relationship with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We are especially delighted to have made a new and significant contribution to the Trust. The Trustees were particularly keen to fund the work of the Expert Patient Advisers which provides a direct service to CF families.
Fidelity UK Foundation
We are very pleased to announce that the Fidelity UK Foundation has made a very generous donation of £10,000. This grant will go towards the redevelopment of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust's website.
PF Charitable Trust
We would like to thank the PF Charitable Trust for their generous support over the years and most recently with a grant of £10,000. This grant will go towards our gene therapy research. We would like to thank the PF Charitable Trust for their continued support, which will bring us closer to making gene therapy a clinical reality.
Muriel Edith Rickman Trust
The Muriel Edith Rickman Trust has very generously donated £15,000 towards the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This grant is to fund a piece of medical research equipment to be used by the Gene Therapy Consortium. We are very grateful to the Muriel Edith Rickman Trust for their ongoing support of our work.
This donation follows a £19,000 grant in 2005 for another piece of medical research equipment.
