The Tall Man At The Back

"The Tall Man At The Back" is an 18 track compilation CD of Leicester's finest musicians in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust & Glenfield Hospital in tribute to Tom Westmoreland, Leicester's greatest bass player. Tom sadly lost his battle against CF and passed away on 20 December 2008 and on the anniversary of his passing his old band line up got together with 30 other great musician friends of Tom's and launched the tribute album they had been recording throughout the year. Calendar Boys

A dozen farmers and their impressive collection of vintage tractors from the villages and farms in North Yorkshire and Co Durham, agreed to strip after being approached by Sarah Yarrow, from Gayles, near Richmond who organised the nude calendar to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

CF vs US: The story of a battle between a family and Cystic Fibrosis.

This book has been written by mum Karen Dohren, who has a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis. Karen spent seven years writing the book, which charts the whole family's experiences in dealing with the disease, and ultimately has a positive message.

The Elements of Lore
The Elements of Lore

Doctor Harry S. Hope is releasing a young adult fiction novel on 24 May. Sales of the novel generate a donation to the CF Trust. CF Rose

The Growing Hope rose, a deep red floribunda with a powerful fragrance, has been created especially to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The rose, launched at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show by Charlie Dimmock, is the result of a partnership between growers World of Roses, and mum Catherine Upstone, who has a two year old daughter with Cystic Fibrosis. Wristbands

Cystic Fibrosis wristbands are on sale in the UK. The purple bands from www.cfwristbands.co.uk are just £1 each and will help raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis. Tracey Lysaght and her team from Liverpool are producing and distributing the wristbands. All profits will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

People of the Day
