Nicky's Whisper Challenge Trophy at Stamford Bridge

If you have ever dreamt of running out on the pitch at Chelsea, this is the event for you. The game, sponsored by National Grid, raises awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This year's match will take place on Tuesday 11 May 2010.

We are looking for players to join the CF Trust Invitation team. Playing against the All-Party Parliamentary team this is an exclusive opportunity to play alongside some football legends as well as well-known celebrities. Each player will be guaranteed at least 30 minutes on the pitch. Previous players include Mark Bright, Gustavo Poyet, Kenny Dalglish, Darren Campbell and Ben Shephard.

Spectators are welcome (up to 10 per player). An informal reception, medal presentation and light buffet lunch will take place after the game.

About Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. This event is held in memory of Nicky West who was a tireless ambassador for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Sadly Nicky lost her fight with CF in 2004, but before she died, she set up the Nicky's Whisper campaign to raise money for gene therapy. If successful, gene therapy will stop the development of the lung damage that claims 90% of the young lives that are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.

We are now at an exciting but critical time in the gene therapy programme and desperately need funds to ensure progress can continue. Although too late for Nicky, her spirit and determination remains an inspiration to us all.

Taking part in the game
We are asking players to pledge a minimum sponsorship of £500. At least 50% of the minimum sponsorship must be raised before match day. This can be through a personal donation or sponsorship. All money raised from this event will be used by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to continue funding the science that will save so many young lives.
