"I've supported the CF Trust during my lifetime, so why not after?"

John Stothard is a committed supporter of the CF Trust and has decided leave a gift in his will to the charity.

John explains "When our son Simon was born we knew very little about Cystic Fibrosis. Thankfully the CF Trust was there to help inform and support us." Move on a couple of decades and Simon is now 23 yrs old. "He's a very active lad, a keen sportsman and keeps very healthy - he's an inspiration to all around him!"

You name it, John has done it in the name of fundraising over the years - from running the Dunstable Group to supporting Simon's Ben Nevis climb, organising a cycle ride to Germany, and dressing up as Orville! John has also included the CF Trust in his will. "I was updating my will and it seemed a logical step to include the CF Trust. My first concern is to ensure that my family are looked after when I'm gone, but I've supported the CF Trust during my lifetime, so why not after?"

He feels the motivations for including the CF Trust are very clear, "When Simon was diagnosed, the Trust were there for us. Everyone deserves access to the same support and future that we had. And of course, the research is going well. We're all hoping to see a treatment as soon as possible, but I know the research will not stop there. My legacy will help to enable this. I can't think of a better gift to give, can you?"
