Leaving a gift in your will

Rosie Barnes with daughter Daisy and grandson Flint
Rosie Barnes (pictured here with daughter Daisy and grandson Flint), Chief Executive of the CF Trust until August 2010, shares her thoughts about how she has provided for her family as well as left a legacy to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

"Back in 1964 when the Cystic Fibrosis Trust was formed, few doctors understood CF and few children lived past infancy. The CF Trust has come a long way since then, but there is still much to do to continue to raise standards of care and get closer to a far more effective treatment.

"The CF Trust needs to ensure it has the financial resources to achieve this now and in the future. This is why I am leaving a legacy to the CF Trust. It is a relatively simple way for me to support the Trust's work in the future, whilst at the same time ensuring my family are cared for."

Thank you for considering us with a gift in your will. For many people, leaving a legacy is a natural way of continuing their support for a cause they feel strongly about during their lifetime. You may be reading these pages because you have family or friends whose lives have been affected by CF and want to do what you can to help them and future generations.

Every legacy we receive, big or small, makes a difference to our work enabling us to continue to make great strides in our research and carry on supporting the care of those with CF into the future.

The following pages explain what legacy income helps us to achieve for people with Cystic Fibrosis and how your legacy could help. There is then some simple, practical information about how to leave a gift to charity.
