Location: South East
Date: Sunday 22 August 2010

The New Forest Rattler

The New Forest Rattler is a cyclosportive set against the stunning backdrop of the New Forest National Park. You can choose from one of two routes: a shorter route of 47 miles or a more demanding 78 mile course.

Each route provides fantastic cycling terrain with long sweeping flat sections and some punchy hills including the famous Blissford Hill - a 25% gradient!

Both routes take in the spectacular scenery that the New Forest has to offer. You will encounter ancient Redwoods when passing through Ornamental Drive, wild animals grazing at the roadside and picturesque villages and hamlets.

The date for this event is Sunday 22 August 2010; online entries are now open here; entry is £18 per person, of which the Cystic Fibrosis Trust receives 25% once costs have been met. We'd love you to raise more through sponsorship, you can set up an online fundraising page at www.virginmoneygiving.co.uk and email the link to all your family and friends.

Your £18 entry gets you

  • Tea, coffee and soft drinks before setting out
  • 2 x feed stations en route (1 for the 47 mile course). Each station will be stocked with energy powder, bananas, flapjacks and water.
  • Pasta based soup and a roll after you've completed the course (plus tea, coffee and soft drinks).
  • Free on-site car parking
  • If you are defeated by the Rattler you won't be left stranded. We will provide a SAG wagon on the day to pick up riders that do not complete the course.
  • Official 'Rattler' certificate of completion
  • An exciting and exhilarating day in the saddle!

There are only 500 places on this event, so don't delay! Once you've signed up please send us your address and postcode and we'll send you a sponsorship pack to help with your fundraising.

We look forward to seeing you in the New Forest in 2010.
