Entries for the 2009 Flora London Marathon are now open!

Due to an overwhelming response Phase 1 of the Flora London Marathon 2009 online entry ballot has closed reaching its limit of 80,000 applicants in less than two days.

Phase 2 of the ballot will open at 9am on Monday 21 April so set your alarms to visit www.london-marathon.co.uk to enter as it WILL fill up in a matter of hours.

There are a further 35,000 places in the online ballot to fill plus 5,000 paper ballot entries for runners who are unable to enter online. Paper ballot entry forms, are available by pre-registering with the London Marathon helpdesk on 020 7902 0200 from Monday 21 April.

If successful in applying, you will know by the end of September if you receive a place through the ballot or not. This is two months earlier than in the past to allow runners more time to both train and raise money for their chosen charity.

You may also be able to get a 2009 place through your Running Club or the Good for Age scheme and of course, you will get a place if you have rolled forward an ill or injured place from the 2008 marathon (unless you also rolled it forward from 2007) or have been unsuccessful in the national ballot for the last five years; again, we would love you to use the place to join us.

We also have a very limited number of Golden Bond (charity) places available. We ask all applicants to pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000 for one of these highly sought after places so please 'Request Info' below if you'd like an application form.

Whether you are brand new to running or a very experienced athlete, we would love to have you run with us in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in the world's biggest marathon.
