The Great North Swim is a one-mile open-water swim taking place in the stunning location of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. With 5,000 swimmers taking part over two days in 2009, it's sure to be even more fantastic in 2010 - you simply choose which day you want to swim.

The race organisers have just announced they have been able to add an additional 'wave' to the event so we've been able to secure a few more places in the 2010 swim.
