Callander to Balquhidder / Killin Cycle

The Callander to Balquhidder/Killin Cycle Rides look set to be bigger and better than ever before in 2010. Both routes take you past Loch Lubnaig and through the stunning scenery of the 'Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park'.

There is a choice of two routes:

1) Callander to Balquhidder:
A nice level cycling route along Loch Lubnaig and via Strathyre with a refreshments stop involving plenty of home baking! Once you reach Balquhidder, it's back to Callander by the same route. In total this is about 28 miles of cycling, but if this sounds too far, some cyclists do turn around at Strathyre for a gentler 15-mile ride. With its start around 10.30am, this is a family route suitable for children and takes around 4-5 hours in total. The ride includes a visit to the church where Rob Roy McGregor is buried.

2) Callander to Killin:
For something a little more challenging you can carry on once you reach Balquhidder climbing up to Glen Ogle before heading down into Killin. This has sections along the road and, including the return journey, is about 50 miles and starts at 10am.

An administration fee of just £10 per adult and £5 per child is payable upon entering to help cover the cost of putting on the event - making sure you have a great day. We ask that you please then get as much sponsorship as possible to help continue the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
