Alex Stobbs plays at the Royal Albert Hall
Many people were very moved and impressed by Alex Stobbs when he featured in the Cutting Edge TV programme A boy called Alex.
Alex, who has Cystic Fibrosis, has now added the Cathcart Concerto Award to his list of musical achievements. Alex will play Mozart's Piano Concerto No 21 with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by David Arnold at the Cathcart Spring Proms, Royal Albert Hall on 15 May.

We are delighted that the CF Trust will receive £5 for each full price ticket bought for this concert through the Royal Albert Hall quoting either code 2928 online or Cystic Fibrosis Trust when calling at the box office.

Alex was three when he started playing the piano, which he swiftly followed by the violin and the organ. He became a chorister at Kings College Cambridge aged 9, and won a Music Scholarship to Eton aged 13. Alex studies piano with Chris Hughes and has recently been awarded a place to study piano at the Royal Academy in London.
He has toured extensively with Eton College Chapel Choir, which he first conducted when he was 15 years old and has been awarded a Choral Scholarship and place to read Music at Kings College Cambridge.
Christopher Palmer-Jeffery CEO European Group, and Producer and Director of the Cathcart Spring Proms says "The Cathcart Concerto Award is part of the Cathcart Education programme. The idea behind it is to give talented young musicians a chance to perform a concerto with an orchestra of international reputation and on a world-famous concert stage. As a pianist and chorister Alex has been winning prizes for most of his life; we are absolutely delighted that he has accepted this new award, I cannot think of a more deserving choice."
