Hi i'm Rhiannon aged 18 with CF.
Does anyone here have very high sugar levels? my highest is 23.6 and i feel like my head was gonna exsplode! my vision went blurry and keep falling over.
I have felt like this for the past 3 years but only the past 7 months have i been givin a machine to monitor my sugars.
they keep promising me insulin or tablets but wen ever i do my BM's 2hrs after meals they behave and stay around 7.5
But as i'm eating my meals i feel my headach starting and me getting irritable and angry at others for about 1hr.then my calm down to 7.5 and sometimes still to 10.2

my sugar hardly ever goes low!

does anyone else get angry when sugars are high?
whats the highest?
ever had fits or been in coma?
and is it true you only live to around 24yrs old?

Because I want Kids and carear! lets just say i'm terrified!

Darling

Hiya

If you're keeping a diary of sugar levles then show that to your team when you're there. On the glucose tolerance test my result showed as higher end of normal range but I am diabetic. They'll need a really big picture to look at and see what's happening.

Highest I ever recorded was around 23 at which I felt a tad strange.

Now then, this age stuff. It really depends on your own particular CF (we're all different), which bugs you catch and how well you look after yourself.

I'm 36 next week and there are a great many people far older. Sir Dexter of Old (he pops on here from time to time) is so old he has a bus pass, is no doubt collecting his pension and still jumping out of aeroplanes. The man's possessed I tell you

Hi i have diabeties and i have been for 5 years now and i still can get it right im always having highs and lows. the highest i have had is 44.0 and then when they done it again it just said hi on the machine which means its higher than 44.0 but that was when they diagnosed me with diabeties i went from 9 1/2 stone to nearly 5 stone in a few weeks. The doctor told me i was nearly on my death bed another week and i would of been in a coma and probably dead i know this is grafic but get on top of it and tell your doctors you fell ill after eating and you want fasting bloods done and also glucose tolurance test and maybe that will tell. im strictly insulin dependant no 2 ways about it. Trust me who ever says diabeties is easy it aint damion
