NIV Help

Hey all,

Wondering if any of you guys have any experience with NIV and particularly it causing stomach aches through what I'd guess is trapped air in the stomach?

The last two mornings I've woken up with excruciating stomach aches which have gone off with Gaviscon-type stuff and coming off the NIV.

In the past I've woken up with huge belches, incdicating that the NIV may be making me swallow air overnight and now it appears to be getting trapped rather than working its way back out.

Any ideas? I'm a bit scared of sleeping on my NIV now, cos it causes so much pain in the mornings.

Daisy!

Probably a dim response but are you sleeping propped up or flat? I was told the bloating is caused by gulping and being propped up helps.

Not a dim response Dimbloke That's the first thing I'd suggest too, sleeping in as upright a position as you can tolerate. Gulping air is definitely a side affect that I have heard mentioned before. Not too sure otherwise I'm afraid Oli, I know it can just be a question of fiddling and fiddling till you find a setting and position that is the most comfortable for you. Best of luck chuck x

I think you should talk to your team about it, because it might get better with adjusting the settings a little.

Edit:
Ehh, Angel already mentioned the settings.
