Christmas Is Coming

Time to get into the festive mood me thinks with a little bit of christmas nosiness! Just a few questions to get us in the mood:

1) What is the worst christmas present your hubby/partner has ever bought you?

I got a hand warmer for my first Christmas present!

2) What is the best christmas present your hubby/partner has ever bought you?

My engagement ring in 1992.

3) Best Christmas ever?

The 1992 Christmas and Dan and Joe's first Christmas day's.

4) Worst Christmas ever?

It's got to be 1997 for us - Dan was very poorly - coughing - full of cold and very lethargic (before diagnosis). He went to bed at lunchtime and didn't enjoy any of the day.

5) Who's cooking Christmas lunch this year?

Hubby starts off with all good intentions of cooking lunch and I take over because he's so disorganised! But it's usually a joint effort.

6) Where will you be celebrating Christmas and who with?

Christmas is always at home with my mum and dad coming again this year. We don't have the pleasure of the mother-in-law ("oh no, not more presents"!!) as brother-in-law has that delight this year!

7) What is your little darling/s getting for Christmas?

Dan's getting a PSP player and a mountain board (along with loads of bits) and Joe's getting a Thomas the Tank Engine scooter and a Karaoke machine (oh joy!).

8) What do you do on Boxing Day?

Collapse in a heap full of turkey and christmas pudding! Turkey, chips and salad for lunch - walk round Clumber Park to burn it off and family over for tea this year - usually at granny's, but we get that delight a bit later on this year!

I think that's enough to be going on with!

1) What is the worst christmas present your hubby/partner has ever bought you?

A pack of 5 lottery scratchcards as a stocking filler, and none of them won a penny!

2) What is the best christmas present your hubby/partner has ever bought you?

My Gerard Butler dvd's last year, hehe.

3) Best Christmas ever?

1989, the year my brother was born (10 days before Christmas), and I had my Barbie caravan. I was nearly 9 years old.

4) Worst Christmas ever?

Last year. We were at my mum's for Christmas, and my mum was working night's Christmas Eve, so apart from a lovely Midnight Mass service we went to, everything was really rubbish. Mum was overtired, Seren was overexcited and wet herself three times that day, and ripped open her presents in 10 seconds flat then tantrummed all day. Dylan was really ill with a very nasty cold which had gone on his chest, and he did nothing but cough and cry all day, wasn't interested in opening presents at all. My Dad was having a bad day with his Ankylosing Spondylitis, Mum was stressed, and I was trying to take care of the two kids and help Dad out in the kitchen while Mum tried to sleep. Promised myself then and there that we'll never go away from home again for Christmas!

5) Who's cooking Christmas lunch this year?

Mother-in-law!

6) Where will you be celebrating Christmas and who with?

We'll spend the morning at home with the kids, then get round to the in-laws house about 12.30 pm, have lunch about 1.30 pm, then watch the kids open their pressies from the in-laws, and grandmother-in-law will come round. We'll have a snack for tea there possibly, and be home about 7 pm and put the kids to bed, then have our own mini-Christmas together just me and Adrian and open our presents then.

7) What is your little darling/s getting for Christmas?

Seren - Disney's Little Mermaid doll and dolphin carriage, Barbie doll, Trollz doll and hair salon, Barbie dvd, Lazytown DVD, etc etc. Dylan - Printed road play mat, farm yard set, steer and drive bus, fire engine, CBeebies CD, singalong CD, Big Cook Little Cook DVD, etc etc.

8) What do you do on Boxing Day?

We'll be packing to travel to Wales! Usually we might open any presents the kids haven't opened yet, get some serious playing done with the toys, and then spend the rest of the day washing, ironing, packing, and loading up the car ready to leave early on the 27th for Wales to see my family.

I think I have always liked my presents, however, my Mum wasn't very impressed one year when my Dad bought her a microwave for Christmas.

My best present was when my dad got me my old car which was combined birthday/christmas. I'd had the most horrible year and it it was a real boost in 1999.

My best Christmas has been every Christmas since having my son. Although on a more sentimental and sickening note, every day is Christmas in that respect. (I've not even been drinking, honest!) Feel free to put your fingers down your throat

Worst Christmas... 1998. Reasons best left. Involves ex husband.

My Dad will be cooking Christmas lunch, whilst I attempt to assemble all the toys before I get drunk.

I'm spending Christmas with my faaamily at my parents house. Can't wait.

I got my son many toys, but I think the one he will like best is the Cyberman voice changer helmet. I'm desperate to have a go myself.

Boxing Day involves eating left over turkey, few more drinks, a good walk on the meadow with the dogs, although this year I may have to pass on that and tormenting my little boy as much as humanly possble.

Merry Christmas.
