Sweat glands on palms of hands

Hi, this is my first time using the forum. Up until now I've never got around to looking at it but I wish I had before now. My son has CF, over the last few months the skin on the palms of his hands have changed. The skin has changed colour to white, its hard to describe but something is happening under the skin as it isn't dry flaky skin. There are no erruptions. We have been seen at dermatology at hospital as he developed urticaria/allergy last time he had IV's. The hospital haven't seen anything like it before, they are wondering if it is his sweat glands with him having CF. Has anyone seen or heard of this before?

Sorry I can't help at all, but would like to welcome you to the boards!

I have 3 boys, the youngest has CF. His name is Ocean and he's 20months old. He keeps fairly well (touch wood!). How old is your son? Hope he keeps well!!!

Hi

Joanna's information was great, it sounds just like what Adam has on his hands. I'll be onto the hospital straight away.

Adam is 16 yrs old, he was diagnosed with CF only 2 yrs ago. Up until then he had various different illnesses but his main problems were with his sinuses and nasal polpys. He's never had problems with his chest or digestive problems until he was diagnosed.

6 months after the diagnosis of CF he developed a cough and then he developed an aspergillious infection in his lung, which he is allergic to. I can't remeber the name for it. And now we have the skin problem on his hands.

I really hope this won't cause him a problem in the future as he is dyselxic but is very good at art and has just started an art & design course at college.

Anyway, I have one other son who is 15 and he doesn't have CF.

Thanks for welcoming me to the forum, I will be watching this space in the future.

Hi

Oli has this every time he goes near water on his hands and feet. In the summer his hands and feet arepermanently like it because of all the swimming. He says it doesn't bother him though so we haven't worried.
