Argument settlage (non-CF)

Hey all,

Need some wise heads to help settle an argument (sorry: discussion) between me and my lovely lady.

Chris Rea: old Irish singer-man person - how do you say his name?

I maintain, cos it's Irish, that it must be "Ray", but she's determined that it's "Ree-ah".

I think she's wrong - prove me right.

Me thinks you loose Oli. I'm sure I've heard his name pronounced Ree-ah and he isn't Irish either but was born in Middlesbrough & his pop was an Italian Immigrant

He's not Irish fella, he was born a footballs kick away from my Dads house in Middlesbrough. And his name rhymes with beer.

I'm almost disappointed that you weren't....

If it rhymes with "beer" wouldn't that make him Chris Rear? How funny.

Incidentally, he's on Parky tonight, so I guess I'll use the old wise one as final barometer...
