I've wondered about this as I would like my daughter wcf to be a donor.

I think pwcf could donate their heart. I'm sure I read about a pwcf who had a lung and heart transplant even though their heart was ok (something to do with heart/lung being easier or safer than just lungs) and their healthy heart was donated to someone else.

I'd like my daughter wcf to be a donor of as many organs as possible, even if it was just for research or other medical purposes I would let them take what they needed. After all they wouldn't be needed by her and someone somewhere could be in desperate need of them......

Yeah you can still be a donor - having CF isn't a bar to being a donor. When you think about it, some people with CF who need lung transplants donate their heart to someone else and get new heart and lungs in return.

What organs can actually be used depends on a number of things such as whether you have diabetes, if you've been on high dosed steroids etc.

My view is if it came to retrieval then the docs can figure out what is recyclable. I'm on the register and so are all my family

Well I went on the web site and you can also donate your bones and skin. I'm going to register if some of you are!!
What about giving blood?

As Dimbloke said, no medical condition rules you out from being able to donate, although of course certain organs may not be suitable. As far as giving blood goes I was told I can't due to various medications but also now because I have received a blood transfusion.
