We had the same mailing as did my parents and both lots went in the bin. We already make monthly donations for what we can afford, as do my parents, so a reminder to cough up more at christmas time was not greeted with glee. Wouldn't be so bad if the card was a nice one aswell. It wasn't very festive.

I also got two cards, felt it was nice, but unnecessary. A bit of a waste of resources, and just a way to ask us for more money.

I got a card also, and agree that sending them to us is probably uneccessary, but when all our details are on the CF Trust data base they are probably all sent out automatically and at this time of year is when you are most likely to gain donations. Which in the end is what its all about.

If all the people we were targeting to gain much needed donations for the trust ourselves via all our efforts whether it be sponsored runs or selling of reindeer food or christmas fayres etc thought like that, i'm sure I would try damn hard to change their minds and make a little donation. Before Grace was diagnosed with CF I often avoided anyone with a collection tin, but I fully understand the struggle that it takes to get someone to make a donation to something they know nothing about and do not realise how hard it is to live with such a hardship.

So although I think that the resources would probably be best spent elsewhere, I fully understand why we receive them.
