Over and done with,it's official !

Hello fellow members.

Just thought i would let you all know on my liver situation,after spending the last 4 days in the liver unit at Leeds.
Well it's now official,after Christmas i will be on the "active" list for a liver and pancreas TX.

I have been told i shouldn't be waiting to long as i can have any 4 out of 4 liver's because of my blood group been AB postive.So that why,it has been decided to go active after Christmas.As people with my blood group get them fairly quick,and thats why at the moment there is nobody on the list waiting for tx with my blood group.
I might not get both as yet,but i will defiantly get the liver.
So i guess i'd better start making my will out and what kind of funeral i want,just incase i don't pull through the operation.

Hey Shirley,

I'm not sure exactly how you're feeling about it at the moment as the tone of your post was a little contradictory (

) but I think you're doign the right thing and it's a great step forward.

Welcome to Club Wait - it's quite good fun for a while, and you make some good mates here. Of course, most of us you already know, but hey, it's nice to get a new membership card!

Hope you manage to have a good Christmas and not to let it bog you down too much - try to keep thinking positive and not let the rubbish stuff bog you down.

Shirley, I do think you've made the right decision - my GI doc says Jimmy's are really good in terms of liver care. It may be a hard thing to cope with in the short term, but it will give you a new lease of life. I shall be thinking of you, do let us know how you're getting on.

Good luck Shirley, stay positive and don't look on the bleak side of the TX, I'm sure when it all happens you'll sail through it all.

Good luck Shirley, have a really good christmas and don't worry too much (lot easier said than done).
Hopefully you will get a call early in the new year and then you can get on with having a lot better year in 2007

Really pleased to hear you'll soon be the proud owner of a new liver! I did all that funeral planning stuff and what a waste of time that was! Liver tx's are really sucessful so stay positive and think of all the advantages.
It will be tough for a little while after the op but take it from me, it's worth it.
Relax, stay calm and enjoy your Christmas- 2007 will see you feeling much, much better.
