I normally just put about 5 drops on a tissue and place on a shelf in the room where my lpwcf sleeps. Works a treat.

Hope that helps, and saves you loads of kettle trips!!

Not sure how old your lpwcf os but I always put a few drops on Grace's pillow (used to put it directly on her sheet when she didnt have one)Always found it helped and even seems to help when she has a cough.

I always used to call is a rainbow when I put it on her sheet when she was little and now she asks for a rainbow!

Hope your little one's cold is gone before Christmas,
Sarah

Amelias mom, my son is almost 21 used this stuff when needed for many yrs put it on second pillow, (sleeps on 2) has worked wonders over the yrs, as he grew up he even asked for it to be put on hankies, only use it as and when, and he has suffered no ill affects

We use carvol not olbas, but I reckon both are good. My dad swears by olbas. We put the carvol on Joels pillow or clothes if he is coldy.
But I think steam inhalation is brilliant too, tho' I tend to use just hot water with nothing added. I use it myself when I get catarrh or a bad cough, and it really clears it. If Joel has a cold I have been known to fill the house with steam!

Hi Amelia's mum,
We use the Children's Olbas Oil. Our pharmacist said that the normal one is too strong (??!?!?). I can't find the box but I'm sure it said not to put it on a pillow for little ones. We put a few drops on a tissue and leave it in her room overnight (Isabel is now 19 months). Seems to do the job. Sorry, I'm not sure whether that answers the question, I have a rotten cold and my brain isn't functioning too well. I'm off to sniff some Olbas Oil (the adult version)

Has anyone used one of the plug in ones? Don't know if they do them for little ones but I saw an adult one advertised.

Katie,

We have one of those plug in ones with tablets a bit like those that you put in mosquito plugs. They are good but very strong. We found that in Grace's old room which was not that big that it was almost over powering. We used to plug it in for a while before she went to bed and then turned it off as we felt it was too strong to leave on all night (although it is safe to do so). We tend to use olbas oil instead but would use the electric one if she was really bad and that didnt work.
