If so, any idea on dosage?

Ted can take tablets, so we wont to move away from syrups.

Cheers as ever

Yes Cipro does come in tablet form as i have just finished a two week course. i'm not sure about the dose in kiddies though, so it's best to ask your CF team

yes,250mg tablets, don't think they can be easily halved but my 5 yr old is on 250mg twice/day of liquid so probably similar doses anyway.

The tablets are very bitter, so best to be sure your little one is a competent tablet-swallower before trying, in case he is put off. Suex

Hi everyone

Im joanna, mum to four children, three wcf, and one wo/cf. Im new to the board but have been reading them for a while, and think you are all really supportive of each other.

I thought I would reply to this post as the use of Cipro seems commonplace over there (Im from Australia), but we dont use it at all on children over here (at least not in my clinic, which is a major one). That's because it can cause damage to growing bones apparently...only teenagers and adults use it here.
We dont use colimycin much either, the main antis we use are Tobramycin and Timentin, both through nebs or IV.
Adult and teens use Cipro and Tob. or others.
I dont want to alarm anyone, and perhaps we could be using Cipro over here for children...I'm going to ask about it next clinic, it would certainly cut down the time taken with two sets of nebs. Perhaps you could look into it though...
