what step is next?

when you think you may need help conceiving do you ask through your consultant (cf) or do you go through your gp? do i need to take my partner in? just asking so if we do need to go together we can make arrangements, do i need to make a special appointment with my doctor or can i mention at a clinic for example?
i just dont know which way to go, have been trying for a long time and need some advice.
quite sad today...

Speak to the consultant. They should then refer you to a specialist. From then on it's tests etc but the first port of call should always be through your consultant purley for ease and quickness. I'd have had to wait 6 months to a year to get test results looked at and reviewed if not.
