Ok, I fell out of my attic two weeks ago and badly brusied the inside of my right arm, from my wrist toward my elbow.

IT ABSOLUTLY KILLED!!

Anyway, the bruising went away just after a week and a bit, until a few days ago when someone accidently grabbed my arm where I'd brusied it and straight away the brusing reappeared! Not only that, where I grazed it scrapped the wood on the way to the floor (lol) which was right in the middle of the bruise, It's swollen so bad and I have a large rock hard lump under the graze, Is that supposed to happen?!

xx

There are too many possibilities to guess at. Can you use the hand easily? If so then there is no serious damage and it will heal in the end. However, just to be sure I'd take it to a GP.

If you CAN'T use the hand, then it could be more serious and you need to take it to A&E for an x-ray. I'm assuming you can use it or you'd have said!

It might be an idea to ask your CF clinic if you are getting enough vitamin K, as this is needed to prevent excessive bleeding (and a bruise is a bleed under the skin); and also that you are getting enough vitamin E as this helps healing.

Take care, look after yourself (no more diving out of attics please) and stay well!

Richard.

Hi Becky,

I am on Warfarin and even when a bruise has gone, I do sometimes from when I had had a big bump etc like yourself get left with a feeling like a stone under my skin and that can be there for a couple of months and still really hurt even though there is no bruising left.
