I have CF, I'm 44, and I used to hate physio. But, after all this time I've got used to it. I am sure that when your daughter gets old enough to accept it then the whole business will become much easier for both of you. I think it will help if you decide "no excuses - ever", so physio can't become something she gets out of just because she hates it, and something YOU can't get out of, just because you hate it!

Unfortunately physio is something we can't afford to skip, even when we are well. Physio isn't a cure - it's a preventative. It helps prevent infection (such as pseudo) by making sure there is as little mucous hanging around that might encourage infection. Physio is also important when we get infections to help remove the infected mucous, and to keep airways unbl;ocked so parts of the lungs don't suffer from lack of oxygen.

Take care, and keep up with the good work, however much you can't stand it.

Richard.

I would agree with Richard that no excuses is the best policy. I find if we ever get into the "I'll do it when........." then it gets put off and the sulks creep in. My girl always does her morning physio before she has breakfast very first thing. I also think it helps if there is something nice to look for ward to when it's done - even if it is only a cup of tea! Mary Anne

Yep sorry to say as much as I don't like doing it and Oli hates having it done there is never any reason in our family not to do it! Once you get into that habbit could be a problem getting back on track. Oli has it before breakfast as well. Good luck!

Hi percusion,
I havent seen you on here before how old is your child with cf? I definatly agree with softie on this one just because you hate it it doesnt mean you cant do it your child will definatly not like it ask anyone on here whos child likes it and noone will say theres.
It makes me concerned that you say that your child has pseudo so you have to do physio! you should regardless so you can help prevent other infections. When my little boy had pseudo in march we were doing physio for at least an hour a day on a 1 half year old its difficult but you do it coz its your responsibility, even now he is well we still do 40 mins he is used to it now im sure yours will get used to it if its done regulary.

Lots of love Lisa n Noah x
