Hi, i remember being in a sticky situation with my daughter and another patient in the hospital. We knew this patient had cepacia and that actually she had not been told long that she only had about a year left. It was late one night and my daughter and i were going back into hospital from being out on pass. We werent concentrating and got into the lift, some other people got in and at first i didnt look but as the doors were shutting i realised who had got into the lift. I let out an OHH and tried to grab the lift door, i caught it, but it seemed forever for it to be opened. My daughter and the other girl were right next to each other face to face but thankfully none of them were coughing. After my OHH sound i just said oh, you are cf hen arent you? Then they got out and went in another lift, i felt dreadful after it incase my reaction was overboard. The doctor said to us we done the right thing and as long as she didnt cough on her it should be ok and so far so good. Oh its sooooo not nice when you have to do that 'keep away from that person' thing!
