What to do?

I am due to go back into hospital on monday for my liver, but today my son has started been unwell, stomach ache, headache, very tired, not eating or drinking and a temperature of 38.6C.This had put me two minds on weather to go in to hospital or not.I know thats its my health i'm putting at risk, but as other mum's will know, you don't like leaving them when they are like this,i know i don't anyway.
I know i've got the weekend to see how he is,but i have transport booked to pick me up and take me to leeds, but they need to know 24 hours in advance if canceling,i think.
I'm going out of my mind with all of this.Any help would be appreciated thank you.So what would other's do?

Hi Shirley, you really should go, what use are you going to be to him if things get worse for you and you end up being admitted as an emergency, is there no one to look after your little boy? im sure if he was left with family he would be fine, no doubt missing you but you have to look after yourself. What ever you decide to do I hope your little one is well soon, how important is your hospital visit, is it just an appointment or are you expecting to stay in, I know there is a poss of you needing a liver transplant but don't know how far things have got to, wishing you all the best

Tracie as far as my cf doctor and myself can work out it's just to get my test results, but i am also getting admitted for some reason. The liver unit said it looks like i'm getting admitted for test results and a final decision, from when i rang them yesterday.
But i don't want to leave him as he has now been sick.Life is just of crap, really.

Shirley, I think if he is really poorly then you should cancel, if it's just for results then ask if you can put them off till your little one is better, unfortunately, if they have the results and things are not looking to good then they will insist (or try to) that you go in, then im sorry i don't know what to say, other then i hope all goes well do keep me informed and i will be thinking of you
Best wishes

Thank you Tracie.I am just waiting on liver specialist doctor to ring me to exactly find out what is going on,as i have had all the tests done, but i am still getting admitted.I think everyone knows a liver transplant is needed sooner rather than later.

My son is not well at all,not now that he has been sick and it smelt of pooh, but that could be because he hasn't been to the toilet in 2-3 days.

I will try and keep you informed on my progress and thank you for thinking of me.

I'm glad you're getting some better info from the hospital. If it is just for results, then there may be no contest. Has your son been checked out? My little boy is well off at the minute - 39.3 about an hour ago. Eek! We've been up to the GP and A&E but they tell me its viral and to just keep mainlining calpol and neurofen. Rhys doesn't really want to drink much - maybe your little chap is the same and has got a bit constipated with it too.

If they tell you you need more tests, maybe this is one of those times when you need to hand over the reins and take some time out for you. Do you feel confident in the people around you to look after your little chap? Do they allow you to use your mobile in the hospital?
