Hi All,

I have already posted on this subject about a month ago and you were a great help with 1st foods for Isaac.
He's now moved on to more exciting dinners and we are a bit stuck on fish and mince!
Do any of you have any yummy and easy to prepare recipes for babies?
I would be really grateful. I have bought one of the Annabel Karmel books a few weeks back but my chicken stock was a disaster!!
Thanks, Angie x

My boys always like pasta recipes, roughly chopped with tomato based sauces or smaller pasta like macaroni with cheese sauces. You can chop veggies up small, cook them until soft and add them to the sauces. I'm not much good with meat and fish I'm afraid - the boys eat very little of either as I'm veggie.

Thanks shadow,
what kind of sauces do you use though as I'm,concerned about the salt intake.
I've been told not to use our jarred variety and I wouldn't have the foggiest how to concoct my own!

It's easy to make your own, just fry some onion, add some other veg, chopped small, add some tomatoes (fresh, chopped well, or tinned) and simmer with a little stock/water. Add meat if you like, either minced or chopped small - put in with the onion to brown first.

My son with cf seems to need salt, especially in the summer - we've been told not to worry too much about salt intake, although at 19months I wouldn't worry too much (mainly as we eat little processed food anyway). I don't add salt to any cooking or food at the table, don't give lots of salty snacks, crisps etc. I don't see why a jar of dolmio is too terrible (will check the sodium content next time I go shopping!)

macaroni cheese and other things in cheese sauces are good for fat levels. You could try fish pie, mashed spuds with butter, mild ccreamy curries, Also I used ground almonds although I've a feeling the opinion on any nuts to small ones may have changed(am I right?) Our littlies ate a lot of we did but mashed smaller. I think if they see you eating it they will too. Tom always ate better when he had the same as us.

Hi,
I have a copy of some finger food recipes I did for someone on the forum some time ago. I can e-mail it through if you're interested.
