The bloating is moreliekly to do with stuff you have eaten.
I used to have the same problem as you, where I'd eat and eat and eat, and still be hungry. I always had to stop though as after eating so much it started making breathing difficult.
I've been toldby my dietician to snack on things like dried fruit and walkers french fries crisps. I've also changed my milk to semi-skimmed.
I got told not to go near my sugar, even though I've been wanting to for a while now, as I eat about 10x more than i probably should. It would probably also help me lose weight without having to touch any of my other foods. I'm waiting for my annual review on Monday though and see how my glucose tolerance tests go and query that again.

I think someone said the right thing further up there^^^ That you should have a big long chat with your dietician, and explain how down your weight is making you feel. They may be able to help you lose it sensibly, or give you a confidence boost if you don't actually need to lose any.

I find often that unless you actually have a serious convo with a dietician and explain things, they sort of do everything automatically to what an average CF person would need, instead of looking at each individual case.

Your dietician is likely to understand once you've explained how you feel, and can help you determine how much you can lose, and can help you along the way.

Hi Darkies Gem

Aaarghh...I know what you mean about bloated bellyness. I HATE my belly. I'm having real problems with steroids at the moment. My body wont let me come off them meaning I am stuck with that 5 months pregnant look. (also have a horrid puffy double chin...not a good look.)

The thing I worry about is that this weight I have put on is not "real" weight. It is all fluid retention and bloating. Because I'm so much bigger though, I have been watching what I eat (or trying at least). Goodness knows what will happen when I eventually do come off the steroids.

I know it's hard for people who have problems putting ON weight to read all this. I've been there. But at the end of the day, if you don't like what you see in the mirror, you're gonna feel unhappy about it. As I said in my last post, when all your clothes are too small and you can't afford to buy new ones (especially now as my husband was made redundant on Friday), it can be really upsetting.

"Help needed", I also eat huge portions at meal times, even though it makes me feel even more bloated. If I don't though, I don't feel like I've eaten enough. And even when I do, I'm still at the chocolate a couple of hours later!!!!

Ho hum. I console myself by thinking 'Is anyone ever completely happy with the way they look?' I don't think anyone I know is!

Try this to fill you up:
couscous mixed with sultanas, lemon juice, spring onion, celery (although I leave this out as I hate celery!) and cashew or pine nuts. Sounds vile but actually its really nice and the sultanas give those of us with a sweet tooth something to enjoy! I am a couscous convert - you can even make cakes with it!!! Its really filling but gives you that slow release energy, so you can just eat and eat and eat it, but it won't do you much harm! Fab!
