Further to earlier posting we have interviewed and had photos done at weekend.

Have read a draft of the story which contained a lot of typos and a fair slice of dramatic license and also some factual errors, we were not given opportunity to edit per se.

The reporter is as sure as can be that we will be in tomorrow's (5th December) Health section.

E mail of article went to 7 pages and with photos could be 2 page spread.

Anyway hope we kept the proverbial end up and have helped the cause.

Well done to agreeing to be interviewed for the daily mail. they might stop harassing my sister now (also wcf)! she refused to be interviewed as they wouldnt put what she wanted to say and wanted to do it from a slant my sister disagreed with and they keep ringing to see if shes changed her mind! Will definitely buy paper tomorrow then to see the article!

They had a preconception I believe on what they wanted which was were we angry that the testing for new borns was not in place, as said some of the quotes are not exactly verbatim.

One of my friends from Uni is a reporter for the Mail and have been trying to get them to run a story for 2 months, obviously the appetite has somewhat changed in last week.

Mail is not usually something I would read.

Thanks for doing the interview. Personally, I never trust journalists since they don't have the final say and their motivation is not the same as ours...we want publicity and they want profit! Its a marriage made in hell but I think its the pricewe pay

Just read the paper, very honest and upfront. It brought back many memories, not least of which why did no one listen to me. My daughter now 17, was diagnosed at 15months after months of me treking to and from gps and health visitors only to be fobbed off. When finally refered to consultant he knew virtually straight away that she had cf. A screening test at 6weeks would have prevented so much damage, in particular my daughter having to under go a lobectomy at 19months because the lung damge was so bad. So thanks for your story and raising awareness and as softie says 'carry on the good work'. ps your children look gorgeous!

That was a very honest and thought provoking piece which must have been very difficult for you to both re-live. How awful that those beautiful little girls had to suffer for so long before being diagnosed - I can 100% understand how you feel - I had exactly the same experience with my eldest son who wasn't diagnosed until he was nearly 5. All the fobbing off of "virus's" with ear, throat and chest infections was unbelievable to the point where I was labelled "neurotic" and a overly protective mother!

I hope the girls are doing okay now that they have the correct medication to help keep them well. I hope they have a lovely christmas.

Well done. Very good article. Our oldest son wasn't diagnosed until nearly 3. Luckily he had not suffered with typical CF symptoms such as recurrent chest infections. Our diagnosis came very quickly (less than 3 weeks) following a rectal prolapse. Our other son was around 6 weeks old when he was diagnosed too. We feel very strongly that CF should've been included in the heel prick testing a long time ago.

Not sure William would like being a girl!!! Seems convinced at moment he does not want to be one.

Reasonably pleased with article but not exactly was said and differs a lot from draft we did see. My wife and I were not deemed photogenic enough.

Excellent article, brought back lots of agony for me...our son was not diagnosed until he was 6 years old. We had to fight tooth and nail to get a diagnosis.

I too, was called paranoid by our then GP, I often feeling like writing to him and telling him what for, but that wouldn't help Olly so I won't waste my time.

We were on Channel 4 news on Sunday night as part of a piece about routine testing. Only a few words from us, but I was glad they didn't show the bit where I was a little emotional !!

Keep fighting hard and keep your little one's well.

Haven't had a chance to fully read the article yet (waiting for the kids to go to bed!), but from skim reading it looks good and what beautiful children you have!!!

We were lucky - just. We moved 3.5 weeks before Ocean was born from an area that doesn't include CF in the Guthrie Test to one that does. If our house purchase hadn't gone through in time our story could have been VERY different.

Very good article, well done. Such beautiful children!

Having twins is hard enough (mine are 15) which presents different kinds of 'challenges' along the way. Thankfully only one of mine has CF, and although she was diagnosed at 6 months, it took 3 months to reach that conclusion. Had I known enough about CF at that time I could have diagnosed her so much earlier - the symptoms were so obvious.
