Our local pub has a cheese club where members go once a month to raise funds for a charity. We have got them to do cf probably in feb or March. They want a speaker. Both Bob and I are teachers and not afraid of speaking in public. Do you think we should do it ourselves or try to get someone from the trust or hospital to come? Its not a massive venue but they do manage to raise a reasonable amount of dosh.

Ask your regional fundraising manager (RFM) for their thoughts. Our RFM is fantastic and is an excellent speaker for this type of thing...but it often has more impact if someone directly affected by CF can speak 'from the heart' - especially if at an event or venue where people know you.

The most important thing if you're doing it yourself is to talk through a few key messages with you RFM - then everyone's happy that the right message is getting out there...regardless of who's giving it!
