Is it just my hubby or does any one else got the hump when you use a disabled parking space and some old coger looks you up and down and says "theres nothing wrong with you, you shouldn't park there" or "the youngsters today have no respect they park any where they like" mind you i love to watch his face while calmly through gritted teeth telling them where to get off.

My latest tactic has been to smile a big beaming grin and wander off listening to them explode

it hasnt happened to me yet actually, which is amazing because i think i look quite healthy (most of the time)

this gets mentioned so much on here, old people are just so often so ... opinionated?

good plan on the big smile, took a similar stance when i worked in dreaded telesales, not biting back gets them so much more on edge.

Same here,i'm quite healthy looking but so far have'nt really had any hassle. Get the odd look up and down though.
Mind you i was at the North Tees General yesterday and all the disabled bays were cordoned off buy a 'cherry picker' to clean the hossie windows.
I enquired why they neede all the spaces, and some smart a.se in a suit and 2 sh.t thick workies gave some sarcastic reply.
God was i mad,so i thanked them for their concern and told them to F.CK off,,then put my foot down and zoomed off,,well they were twice my size and twice as ugly !!
Thank god my car was still there on my return. I have to go back today so i'll keep a low profile !

I've had this on buses where I occasionally use the disabled seats if I'm having a bad chest day and make the choice not to vacate it out of embarassment for an elderly person. Some days, you know how it is, it's impossible for me to stand and hold onto to a violently swinging bus while trying to breathe and cough... so if people get arsy I just explain that I have a chronic lung disease. Usually gets them off my back though I spend the next hour ranting in my head...
