Just seen this on the news and I really feel for them but it has to be said that for gene therapy money advances it has to be a positive.

Thinking that we will def vote labour next election if he is Prime Minister lol.

I have a feeling that Gordon is already a patron of the CF Trust. I know that Jack Straw's advisor's son has CF. I just think it's so tragic that he already lost his first child and now this.

I really hope that he feels comfort from that fact that gene therapy is so close and hopefully will become a reality for all of our children.

We all know what the Browns are going through and, I'm sure none of us would wish this on anyone. One positive thing to come out of this bad news is an increase in CF awareness. If Gordon pledges £50m to the CF Trust in the next Labour manifesto, I will definitely vote for them

As others have said, we've all been in the same position in one way or another. We know what it's like to live with children with CF, the physicalities, the practicalities and the emotions. If the Brown's are reading this then I'd just like to add that it does get easier, but give yourselves plenty of time.

Can we please keep things tactful and even though I know the above post (and others) is meant in kind spirit the last thing we need to do is appear to be money grabbing off the back of their news.

This forum is likely to get a lot of attention...

Thanks

I agree, Darling. While people's minds do turn to a raised public profile, I think some of the above, albeit well-intentioned, are a touch unbecoming of these boards and the community when the family are still coming to terms with the day-to-day life of dealing with CF.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Browns and I hope they continue to approach Fraser's journey with the hope and positivity they have already displayed.
