Could this be viral?

I posted a topic about a week ago now saying that i had no sense of smell and no taste buds.
It is now starting to do my head in.All my glands in my groin are all swelled up,i've got a gland under my chin that has swelled up aswell, and because i have no taste buds i don't feel like eating,i could be eating dog sh** and i wouldn't even know it,lol.

I am on a weeks course of cipro because i thought it was a cold, but i'm not sure now if it is.My nose is all blocked up,everytime i blow it something pops in my ear and that really hurts.
Well anyway as i thought it was a cold that was playing havoc with my chest,i rang my cf team to see if i could have IV's,i saw them on thursday and they weren't to happy with me.So i am starting home IV's on thursday.
They weren't happy as i've lost half a litre of my lung function,i've lost 2 stone,my sugars are running very high. But they did say my lung function could be down due to my weight loss.So they wasn't happy with me.
Something stupid they did ask was "Do i know why i've lost 2 stone since they saw me in February" to which i replied "yes i think it's all down to me been in the last stage's of liver failure".That soon shut them up.

So all in all i am very fed up with whatever i have caught and i think i've caught it since been in hospital having liver assessment done.I was fine when i went in so i have caught it while i was in.

It certainly does sound like a virus. You might want to ask your GP or CF clinic to refer you to someone who is qualified to treat this for you, though that may mean yet another doc looking after you!

Sorry to hear you've got another problem. Take care, hope you get over it soon.

Richard.

You where right Richard i do have a virus,i went and saw my GP this morning,he hasn't given me anything for it except sudafed decongestion tablets (60mg)three times a day,as i am on cipro till thursday until i start home IV's,i'm sure he said it was a decongestion spray, but when i've took it to the phamacy they gave me the tablets.
So i guess i've just got to wait it out,but it's horrible having no taste buds or any sense of smell!
I'm also waiting now on my diabetic nurse to ring me to see if she can come out and see me as my sugars are getting worse they are running between 25-30,but it could be down to this virus, either that or i need a insulin chance or something.
