If you see a car you fancy mate you can always go along to the dealership and speak the the motability specialist.

That's what I done and everything went brilliantly and my car is waiting at the dealership for me to pick up now

Check out the website and then, as they say, go and talk to a dealer, because they'll be able to give you good guidance on timespans, order processes etc etc. They're there to help you, so use them!

Also, Motab are super friendly and helpful on the phone, too!

Don't just talk to the dealers, get test drives too to make sure you get on with the car and also when choosing think ahead as to what your needs will be over the coming three years.
Will you need an auto box, space for a wheelchair etc? Cars can be changed part way through an agreement if circumstances change but it's a pain in the neck and will prob cost.

As a quick note, Citroens come with loads of toys as standard (more than Ford & Vauxhall) and while I wouldn't buy one privately due to depreciation and suspect long term quality, a 3 yr lease shouldn't see any problems. The initial payment on them is also low for well specced models with a bit of go in them If I was going back to Motability I'd have a C4 2.0 petrol with all the bits

My Renault Megane (shakin' that a**e) has been fab except it keeps cutting out when I start it up. Note to the boys, it isn't just a women driver thing, as my other half does it too (and he's not particularly girly - drives a big beast of a van).
I've taken it in twice and each time they hook it up to the computer and the "computer says no" and I look a complete idiot.
I got it back today after an extended 3 days without it, only to find out they'd also replaced the rear windscreen due to a fault needing to be recalled. I wouldn't mind, but I'd just bought a new sticker from eBay last week (£5), and also my organ donor sticker has been binned too.
Grrr.
Apart from that, I love it!

Mine was all done and dusted in a month as I was getting a Peugout 307 sports but for some reason Peugout stopped making them and I never got it.

So went for the 207 sport which I am pickin up tomorrow.

I went to the Ford dealership and the Peugout dealership but even before I had my higher mobility rate I had always wanted a Peugout I think they look smart

I went to Renault, Ford, Citroen, two Vauxhall dealers (both reps appalling so weren't getting my business), Honda and VW.

Ended up with Ford as dealer is one of my clients and at the time it was the car with the toys which matter most to me

It's definitely good to look around. I've got a Citroen C4 Coupe 1.6HDI, but when I was looking to change I went to Peugot, Citroen, Vauxhall, Toyota, Mazda and VW.

As with Darling and Vaux, I found the VW reps to be dismissive and unhelpful, so I walked away from a car I really rather fancied to a dealership who treated me like any other customer.

Plus - test driving lots of cars is FUN!

I went to a VW dealer for my Polo, when I used to drive.I found them really helpful. The only problem I had was waiting an age for my car, ended up waiting almost 6 months for it to be shipped over from Germany for some strange reason. They were really good otherwise though
