Argh, Anglia TV!

Hi,

I had a phone call last night from Gemma Foy saying that Anglia TV wanted to talk to us about publicising the calendar!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I said I didn't want to say no outright, but that I wasn't sure, but that if they gave me a ring, I'd certainly discuss it with them.

Thing is, I don't really want the kids being famous for having CF, and I don't know whether I want to be on tv myself, BUT, I know it's for a fabulous cause, and that it would raise awareness and would hopefully boost calendar sales even higher, but .... argh!

What do you think?

OOoeeerrr Becky! Difficult one to advise on really because even though I created the calendar and I want it to do as well as possible (because I'm not doing another!), I'm sure I'd be feeling just like you if put in the same posiiton! However, go with what you feel is best for you and your family - you don't have to committ to it, just find out what sort of thing they want to do and have a chat with them. In the end, it might not be what you want, but if you don't delve a bit further, you'll never know! You can always tell them what you want and what you don't and leave it at that. Whatever you do is your decision and don't feel pressure into doing something you don't feel is right for you or your family. You know where I am if you want to talk about it anymore.

Hi Becky,

It's wonderful that Anglia TV is interested - although I appreciate your concerns too. There's absolutely NO pressure on you to do anything that you wouldn't be comfortable with...although I saw Dylan and Seren in the EADT over the weekend and thought they looked great!

May I suggest that you go back to Gemma and ask her to get some more information on exactly what they want to do? They should be able to give you more idea of what they're after before you even speak to anyone.

Too late! I agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They rang about 11 am this morning, and I asked what was involved and they said just a quick chat mostly centring on the calendar and CF, and to meet the children.

A reporter and cameraman are coming round at 1.30 pm tomorrow!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

So it's action stations now! I want Adrian to cut Dylan's hair tonight, as it's a total curly mop, and I want to give the front room a huge tidy out and thorough clean, so we're going to be busy tonight!

Wish me luck!!!!

Blimey, Dylan's in demand today! He has been accepted by Quidenham for some respite, which I found out at about 11.10 am this morning, and then I just had a phone call from the local hospital to ask if Dylan could be involved in his consultant's teaching session for student doctors! That'll be on 4th December!

Blimey! The phone has never rung so much in one day!

It's going to be on Anglia TV, so I'm not sure if everywhere will be able to get it, but if you have Sky, you might be able to find it on the regional one. It's ITV.

Phew! I'm KNACKERED, but we've now transformed our front room! It used to be tidy, but a bit bare.

Now we've got photos of the kids framed on a lot of the walls, and one of Adrian's paintings, and two of his Laurel & Hardy artworks hanging on the walls!

It looks a lot more like a home now, I'm so pleased with it.

Also bagged up all the crap that gets hidden behind toyboxes and tables and the entertainment system, and put it all in the playroom for now, and it's been polished and mopped until it gleams!

Cleaned the bathroom too in case they wanted to use it, and Adrian's now finishing mopping the floors, and then tomorrow morning I'll clean the kitchen before I put some slap on while Seren's at nursery.

Feel a bit more prepared now, but still nervous, as since all my depression stuff I've not been so good with people!

thought I'd post a couple of pics on the pwcf board so you can see Adrian's art, and our hard work!

Looks very nice Becky. I bet your really pleased Anglian TV rang now - mean's you got your lounge spruced up in record speed! I wish they'd ring me up so my husband would re-decorate/tidy/spruce up our tip of a lounge! Hope all goes well later - don't forget to give us the full rundown second by second!!
