Yes, we were told to try to stick with the 1 capsule (Creon 10000) per kilogram of bodyweight because otherwise the Creon can cause problems in the colon and bowel. However, it doesn't always suit. Evan (age 3) weighs about 15-16 kilos, which puts him bang on the middle line of the weight chart, but he takes about 28 Creon 10000 each day. I was concerned about the increasing number of capsules but our CF nurse said that the 1 capsule per kilo bodyweight was fine for a 50-60 kilo teenager or adult, but CF children need almost as many calories as CF adults so the dosage will often be higher for children. Hopefully as Evan grows, his Creon consumption will level off a bit. His new consultant is a bit concerned about it but we'll have to reduce his food to reduce his Creon and he obviously needs all the food he's having just to maintain the middle weight line. We aim for 1 capsule per 3 grams of fat. Hope this helps
