I have been to see it; I have been feeling a bit ropey and it really cheered me up. I thought Daniel Craig was good as Bond and the film overall was very entertaining and great fun.

I got to see it last night after getting tickets from a tech company that works with my husband's firm and it was amazing, i have to admit i have never seen a bond movie before and i previously thought Daniel Craig was arrogant but I loved the movie and now have a huge crush on Daniel Craig...i definitely recommend seeing it...if only for Daniel's eyes!!

I saw it thursday night, Now i dont like the old Bond Films (Havent sat through all of one yet and i wouldnt unless i previuosly had trouble sleeping)
BUT mark made me go see this and i absolutely loved it, Much better than the old crappy ones.
Daniel Craig makes a wicked Bond he just has a spark about him ( It might be the trunks he wears but im not sure.. It might be his glass blue eyes or just that he is such a hunky munky! LOL)
He fits the part anyway and knocks spots of the other Bonds. I must say though i was in such a state when he rolled the Astin Martin! Oh my god Danile Craig and an Astin in one scene? I need some fresh air i think! xx
Bond wins... "Few" (I sound like SUCH a nerd!):s

Pammie I'm shocked to hear you think the old Bond films are crappy, I love them and think they are still the best - though I guess that's down to me being a child of the 60's!

By the way my dad worked in Sean Connery's garden for a very brief spell many many years ago - not many people know that.

Oops meant to add I haven't seen the new Bond yet but will be soon.

Andy

Hi Andy

My mum went to primary school with Sean Connery

Saw it on Saturday. Great film, but very dark. It is even grittier than the Tim Burton Batman movies, set in the real world and yet is given a 12A certificate. I really would not recommend taking kids to see this film, even in this jaded age.

Oh, and as the Guardian says, the film doesn't know when to stop.

Still a cracking film.

Finally saw it last night. Its very good I thought and Daniel Craig does a good job to recreate 'his own' Bond.

Lots of good action, stunts, shooting stuff, blowing things up, fast cars, sexy women, evil bad guys, casino nights and vodka martini's.

Thanks for coming!

Oh no - attack of the movie geek in me!

How can you possibly call Tim Burton's Batman "gritty"? Dark, yes, gothic, yes, but "gritty"?

Gritty is the kind of down-and-dirty, rough-around the edges, true-to-life kind of approach that you see in action movies like Paul Greengrass' The Bourne Identity/Supremacy, or maybe a Mike Leigh kitchen-sinker. Yes, the new Bond is a little gritty, certainly more gritty than any of the Bond's before it, but Batman is a spurious comparison.

Anyhoo, jumping off my horse of geekdom () I saw it at the weekend and loved it. DC is awesome as Bond and I like how the filmmakers made him just a little bit rubbish at the things that he does, particularly early on.

It stuck remarkably closely to the book, which I was relieved about, with only the addition of the first 30 minutes of action really sticking out. I was annoyed at the poker scenes, though, with their stupid and overly dumbed-down commentary by the silly French policeman.

But considering how AWFUL the last 3 Bond's have been, this is an absolute triumph and has definitely got me back into the series. Bring on some more DC!

I was just trying to think of the last dark, violent 12 certificate film I saw at the cinema

I reckon that must still be a Batman, but I'd have thought it was Chris Nolan's Batman Begins last summer?

I saw it on saturday, and I really enjoyed it, especially the free running stunt at the start-WOW! But in places it was a bit too dark and serious; Bond films are meant to be an escape from reality not too serious and emotional. I also missed Q or R and all their gadgets and Miss Money Penny too. Still a good movie tho. Would not agree with the certificate of 12a so if you are taking your kids be aware you may have to hang on to them!

Its the 1st James Bond I've seen, so wasn't looking forward to it. But I was very pleasantly suprised!!
