Oooh oooh Oli, I have to pick you up on a point there - the Bourne IDENTITY was directed by Doug Liman. Only Supremacy was directed by Greengrass...and how do I know? Greengrass lives opposite my parents!
And I'm going to see the new Bond tonight. I love Daniel Craig - Layer Cake certainly did it for me!

the Bourne films are all good. Cant wait for the Bourne Ultimatum. Greengrass is directing this one too. Out Aug 2007. Winner!

Spanglophile - can you pretty please ask Mr Greengrass for some previews!

I didn't like the 2nd Bourne film. Actually, I didn't really like the first one, but it was certainly the better of the two.

I really liked Casino Royale - Daniel Craig did not disappoint. I loved the fact that the cheese-factor was all but wiped out, and i would certainly say it was gritty. Oli, do you really think the Bourne movies are gritty? I would apply that word to films such as Trainspotting or Reservoir Dogs, but I thought TBI was far too slick and Hollywood.

And Captain Dan, I would obviously ask about the whole preview thing, but he'd probably try and shoot me if I wandered onto his posh driveway!

Great movie and up there with the best of Connery's performances.

Want to see it at the cinema again.

They lost the plot with Die Another Day - it was just tooo far-fetched (even by Bond standards - come on, an invisible car?).

I loved all the references in "CR" to the Connery films and the film had a great raw and even at times a 50s/60s-ness to it, if that makes any sense. Loved the repetition of some locations like Nassau's Ocean Club, which looked like the location from the opening of Dr No (the card club where the MI6 officer was playing before he's murdered?) and the boat into Venice (reminder of scenes from From Russia With Love and Moonraker, etc).

If we can watch Bond's character growing in the next few movies that would be great.

I agree Bill H, there were many scenes that served as a reminder to previous films and that was good.

Anyone know how many films Daniel Craig has signed on for? I pressume they are indeed planning more Bond!

Ok, in answer to my own question i just found this on Wikipedia....

Wilson and Broccoli officially announced on 20 July, 2006 that the film, currently known only as Bond 22, will be released on 7 November, 2008 and that Craig has been signed to play Bond, with an option for a third film.

...2 years til the next one then!!
