I suggest the herbal remindy of St Johns wort.

Dont take it with any other anti-depresents of corse because the effects could be terrible.

I've had both Sertraline and Fluoxetine. Perhaps you need to talk to someone rather than just take medication?

Mirtazapine worked best for me, but it also caused problems with my health.

I'm currently on sertraline, which seem to work an entirley different way.

I'm finding just writing a blog, even if noone reads it, is sometimes better than antidpressants. I know it's better to get my frustrations in a blog, as even with meds, I get uncontrollably wound up.

Best thing to do is see your psychiatrist or psychologist, or counciller. There going to be able to see what reacts with what meds your on. They can also elp you decide what is going to be the best antidpressant for you.

It was suggested to me to stay well away from St Johns Wart. I am on Amitryptaline which I take at night to help me sleep and is also an anti-depressant. I didn't think it done all that much until I decided to come off them myself. I felt really s**t when I did and had awful mood swings. So I guess its doing some good.

I would also second what Darkies Gem said about seeing a psychologist. As I don't think that just taking tablets alone helps. Neither does not talking and bottling it up. I use to write things down that were worrying me before going to bed, in my journal. I read back on it and see how far I have come since then, how my mood has picked up.

Hope this helps.

I was on seroxat(paroxetine) from the age of 16 up until around a year and a half ago when I stopped taking it.I only stopped taking it as I felt I was well enough to cope with things.I have managed to go without any antidepressants since, but I wouldn't reccomend anyone to stop taking their meds unless they are advised.

While I was on anti-depressants I regularly attended appointments with a Psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who were both helpful. As others have said it may be helpful to talk to someone first and if that isn't helping then maybe adding in some form of anti-depressant would help.
