I'm a cf mother of 2 a daughter aged 7 and a son aged 5 thankfully neither have cf, but i need to ask other mothers a question, have you noticed any physical or mental problems with your kids my daughter has Dispraxia and my son has ADHD and is hyperactive.
As there is no history of any kind in both families i need to know was it anything to do with the I.V's i was taking during pregnancy, i was told there quite safe but took far more with my son.
I don't want to scare anyone or put off anyone thinking of having kids as the good points by far out way any bad points and would do it all over again given the chance.

our eldest now 28, was hyperactive, had a bad case of glue ear, and clasic dysfasia. other that that was completly normal, we have found that both boys were more mature than their friends, we belive it was part of growing up in an enviroment of their mother having physio and IV, which they both wanted to and were allowed to participate in.

hope this helps

Thanks Gordon for the reply i have asked this question to quite a few cf parents with non cf kids and hyperactivity and some other syptoms seems to affect at least half the kids is somthing being missed? i think the drugs we use may not pose a problem to pregnant mums of yesteryear as not many cf's had children, but what about now? the names of drugs that i take are the same now as they were ten years ago.
