Welfare Grants
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is able to help families and CF adults in many ways including offering financial help and advice (see Guide to Financial Help below) and through its own small grants scheme for those experiencing particular difficulty at a time of stress or crisis relating to Cystic Fibrosis.
Most areas of need will be considered however our funds are limited and so we are unable to help with debts or ongoing expenses (such as driving lessons or the cost of running a car) or with major projects such as home improvements/maintenance or purchasing a car.
We will do our best to meet requests unlikely to be considered by any other organisation, for example:
- Assistance to purchase household items directly relating to Cystic Fibrosis
- Providing help with the cost of a necessary break after a period of stress or crisis
- Paying for help in the home which may mean keeping the person with CF out of hospital
- Financial assistance for those setting up home for the first time
- Help with costs during hospitalisation
- Funding a young adult's first annual prescription prepayment certificate
- Help with funeral costs

GRANTS FOR MODERN NEBULISERS
If you are using an old fashioned nebuliser and would appreciate a more modern version, you should ask you CF team if they can provide you with one.
It is really down to the NHS to make sure you have modern, portable nebulisers, which take far less time to use than the old ones.
If your team agree that you would benefit from an e-flow nebuliser, for example, but they are not able to provide you with one because of financial limitations, the CF Trust may be able to help.
We have a small amount of funding from company donors specifically for nebulisers. To be considered, you need to complete a Welfare Grant application form, which can be downloaded from this page or posted to you on request. This form should then be endorsed on the last page by a member of your CF care team saying that you would benefit from a more modern nebuliser, but they are unable to provide one at present.
We'll then help if we can, although funds are limited.
Applications or enquiries should be made to:
