Welfare Grants

We know that living with CF can be expensive. As well as offering financial help and advice, we also offer small grants for people with CF and their families.

Whether you are setting up home for the first time or you and your family need a break, we will try to help. Check our Guidelines for Welfare Grants for more information

Our resources are limited so we won't be able to meet every request. For example we can't help with debts, with driving lessons or the cost of running a car or with major projects such as home improvements/maintenance or purchasing a car. If you are in any doubt, please do give us a call on our Welfare Helpline: 0300 373 1020.

Other organisations also offer grants for people with CF:

The Joseph Levy Memorial Trust
Joseph Levy was one of our co-founders and, in a bequest, set up a fund to assist young adults with Cystic Fibrosis to develop their careers by way of Further or University Education or in pursuance of other professional qualifications.

Grants will be considered to cover the cost of tuition, living expenses, examination fees or other costs of a similar nature.

If you would like to apply and are aged 18 or over, please write to Mr Peter Levy OBE, Pegasus House, 37/43 Sackville Street, London W1S 3DL. Alternatively, call Elizabeth Neville on 020 7333 8118 or email elizabeth.neville@shaftesbury.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 31 March: awards are decided in mid-June.

Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund
The Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund offers financial assistance to children and young adults with CF up to the age of 25 to enable them to have an invaluable break. Family holidays are encouraged although diverse programmes such as a dream day out are also considered.

Applications are available from the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund, 1 Bell Street, London NW1 5BY or by telephoning 020 7616 1300, or email info@cf-holidayfund.org.uk. All applications are assessed by a medical panel who meet quarterly.
