Benefits available to people with Cystic Fibrosis
The CF Trust Benefits Helpline offers support and advice on the completion of the Disability Living Allowance form, specifically relating to Cystic Fibrosis and how best to complete it to ensure the right Care and/or Mobility rate.
We suggest that you:
- Prepare a 24 hour diary sheet showing a complete breakdown of care. (This can also be used as an aid to completing the form)
- Get a letter of support from your CF Nurse and/or Consultant.
- Get a letter of support from the CF Trust.
In order to write a support letter from the Trust, we will need information relating to your care and/or mobility needs. Please complete our form
'Information about my care needs' and return it as soon as possible so that we can prepare a letter for you. You can also call 0845 859 1010 to request a copy in the post.
We have produced a factsheet available here, which should help guide you through the complexities of state benefits.
The Benefits Helpline can also give general advice and information about other benefits.
For more detailed and complex enquiries such as 'benefit checks' or a 'better off' check you will need to contact the National Benefits Enquiry Line on 0800 882200. If you have any problems or queries, please contact the benefits helpline.
