Standards of care for Cystic Fibrosis

This section is a resource for consensus documents on various aspects of CF care. These consensus standards have been compiled by Cystic Fibrosis clinical specialists in both paediatric and adult care, working within the community and the hospital, based throughout the UK.

The consensus documents can be downloaded from the publications library and cover the following aspects of Cystic Fibrosis: Standards of care, Burkholderia cepacia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Antibiotics and CF related diabetes.

By referring to these consensus standards, all clinicians involved in the care of patients with Cystic Fibrosis will provide the optimum level of care for patients and their families.

We would like to thank all members of the working parties who helped to compile these documents. We are also grateful for the comments and suggestions from parents, patients, and other professionals who have been involved in their review.

These documents are to be used primarily as guidelines for specialist and general clinicians who care for people with Cystic Fibrosis. People with CF and their families may also find these documents useful. The CF Trust recommends close liaison with your nearest specialist CF centre regarding all aspects of CF treatment.
